“The prototyping - phase 2”

GetShipRekt! is a couch-coop local multiplayer game developed by a team of 3 developers and 3 artists. The name of the title basically says it all; battle your opponent(s) 1v1 or 2v2 style by blasting their ship with your cannons while defending your own by tactically using shields and manoeuvring around!

Gamepad controllers are supported.

Week 2 of the prototyping phase, it's been a rough one, but we're somewhat happy with the results we were able to achieve.

Dennis gave his own shot at making movement controls for a single player, which worked out quite nicely.
Then continued with an event system that, despite it being  a prototype, is really solid!
Most aspects of the game now function such as; the interactables and their respective behaviour (shields, crates, cannonballs)

Kristof added a temporary local multiplayer system, which does not function properly yet, provided by the Unity input system manager and basic player controls.
He also made a simple respawning system, respectively for each player.

Quinten finished up the cannon prototype, (converted from UE4), which is now mostly functional. Complete with the indicator to visualize the cannon ball's trajectory. Same with the steering of the ship, it now smoothly hovers across the water.

The camera now has been implemented to a basic degree by Quinten, we're still not completely sure whether to use this one, but it works.
Split-screen is yet to come, more on this on the next update, so stay tuned!
