The Production - Phase 5


"Abandoned islands in the distance!"


Week 5 of the production stage, stress is kicking in... Students sick or starting to get sick, more deadlines ahead and still locked down going crazy. "Did that tree just start talking? "


Main updates
Programming part:

- Dennis researched what options would be best suitable to make the repair interaction more forthcoming. Also changing the code to make sure the shield is movable from wherever character is standing, except when the character is interacting with another object.

- Quinten: did some minor, unlogged things during the easter break, but at the moment ill during production week.

- Kristof made sure the ships dob in all sorts of directions and positions without the player having physical glitches.
This feature has been tested with success, but has yet to be implemented since it requires a downgrade of the physical model for the player.

Artistic part:

-Elie: effects, broken ship

-Lukas: level design, UI

-Ilja: animations, cloth simulation, selection testgroup for final touches to make game more playable (essential is that the playtesters haven't seen/played the game before)

More testing will need to be done when UI will start coming together in the game.
Will the UI make the actions more readable for the players or will it become too messy?

And on a sidenote; we're all kinda semi still waking up from the slow and tedious easter break, filled with assignments and deadlines.
Which is probably why some things might get delayed.
But hey, life's hard being a game developer/artist!
